About your instructor

John teaches hatha yoga focused on restoring natural alignment in the body. There is a strong emphasis on the feet and alignment of the legs in the standing postures. Students will also learn how to engage the strength of the abdomen to support the lower back without locking the pelvis and losing the natural movement from the hips. Breath work is another important aspect of the classes, both for its physical effects on the body and how it can stimulate or calm the mind.
John has practised for over 20 years with Iyengar, Ashtanga Vinyasa, Vini and Scarravelli teachers, though his main influence was Esther Gokhale and her work with Primal Posture(TM). It was following her teaching that he became pain free after a couple of decades of chronic back pain. John qualified with the Inner Yoga Trust in 2008.
What level of experience is this suitable for?
This is a class suitable for all adults of all abilities whether you are a complete novice or a seasoned pro!
What should I bring?
Students should bring along a towel and wear loose clothing.
